Wedding Day
We never saw it coming
A new relationship has emerged
On separate continents we lived
We reconnected, something stirred
All those years ago we met
And went our separate ways
But a website and a poem
Brought us back to share our days
A day to celebrate
This unexpected gift
Those fifty years have passed
And then an overwhelming shift
From New York to St Day
A journey not foreseen
But touched by heartfelt joy
This love is like a dream
Who can fathom such a force
That drew us back again to meet
Was this fate or just by chance
Now we’re blessed to feel complete
There’ll be laughter, that’s for sure
As music fills our days
The photographs will show
Our complementary ways
A full circle for my life
Now a partner by my side
Our Cornish roots have merged
